SML Paints and Coatings (previously Shepherd Marine Ltd) has been an independent authorised distributor of Jotun paint since 2004.  Originally we built, owned and maintained large residential houseboats on the Thames.  We always looked for a corrosion protection paint system that offered both a minimum of 10 year service intervals and that was available at an affordable price. A friend recommended Jotun and we quickly became a committed customer. When an opportunity became available in 2004 to become a distributor covering London and the South East from Oxford to Southampton, we were keen to be involved as we already knew ourselves how good the paint was.

We are now the main UK distributor of Jotun marine paints, supplying customers from the Scottish Islands right down to the Channel Islands and all points inbetween.

Our customers include all kinds of commercial operators (ship builders, boatyards, dry docks, leisure fleets etc) as well as individual owners of the smallest craft.

We are here to help you get the most cost effective coating system for your vessel, balancing both the requirements of good protection and a demanding budget.

We have lots of experience. We don’t just sell the paint, we use it too!  We undertake  never to try and make you buy any paint that won’t do the job properly nor to make you waste your money needlessly.  In the end this will only reflect badly on us and on Jotun.
